2011 L.A. Fit Expo

I attended the L.A. Fit Expo on Saturday. Many celebrity appearances were scheduled throughout the day. One person that I was interested in meeting was Chuck Liddell. The night before the event Chuck posted on his twitter page that he was not going to attend. That didn't keep me from attending though. I took advantage of the people that did show. I was able to obtain many autographs. This will be quick and simple.

MMA Referee Herb Dean. Herb signed multiple items and posed for pics.

UFC fighter Clay "The Carpenter" Guida.

I got to meet my favorite MMA fighter. "The California Kid" Urijah Faber signed multiple items for his fans.

Carmen Electra also made an appearance to sign autographs. She signed multiple items. Staff wanted fans to do group pics to keep the line moving faster. So J.R. had to squeeze in.

R&B Musician Brian McKnight was walking around the Expo.

Shawne "Lights Out" Merriman made an appearance to sign autographs. All fans had to do was buy a $10 raffle ticket to get an autograph. All proceeds went to charity.

As I was waiting in line for Shawne Merriman I heard a small commotion. Jose Canseco tried to stay low key with a hat and dark sunglasses. People still noticed him.

UFC fighter Anthony "Rumble" Johnson signed autographs and posed for pics.

UFC Fighter Krzysztof Soszynski also signed autographs and posed for pics.

Jay Cutler the bodybuilder signed autographs for the fans. Don't mistake him with Jay Cutler the football player.

"The Godfather of Bodybuilding" Charles Glass handed out protein packs.

Fitness Icon Greg Plitt

Last but not least. The woman were out in full force. They were all very kind. Enjoy the pics. I know I will.

Many supplements were handed out. They included protein packets, protein bars, meal replacements, creatine, fat burners, nitric oxide and HGH (Human Growth Hormone). After I got home I emptied my bags on the table. It's over $100 worth of supplements. I buy most of this stuff at GNC and The Vitamin Shoppe. I got to stock up on supplements for free.

This was without a doubt the best event I have ever been to in my life. I landed over ten different autographs and took many pics with celebs. Not to mention over $100 worth of free supplements. It was really worth my $10 admission fee.

I would like to thank Herb Dean, Urijah Faber, Clay Guida, Jay Cutler, Shawne Merriman, Krzysztof Soszynski, Carmen Electra, Jose Canseco, Brian McKnight, Charles Glass, Anthony Johnson, and Greg Plitt. I would also like to thank all the supplement companies for all the free giveaways. Especially Optimum Nutrition and ABB Performance who handed out tons of free stuff. The Fit Expo was a great event. I hope to attend next year.

Pete Rose Autograph Signing

Baseball's "Hit King" made an appearance at Living Spaces Furniture to sign autographs. For some reason I wasn't able to sleep the night before so I headed out to make line for this signing very early. I arrived shortly after 1:00 a.m.

After arriving I noticed that it was a little awkward. It was like a bunch of dudes having a slumber party outside of Living Spaces. Chairs, blankets, and even air mattresses were set up by fans outside of the store.

This signing was scheduled from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Pete arrived on time and then began to sign items for the fans. A no flash photography rule was setup by Living Spaces staff so most fans didn't get to take pictures. It didn't matter. As long as we got our items signed we were happy.

Signing Recap:
  • People in line? I would guess well over 300 people.
  • Items per person? 1 item with a chance to get back in line.
  • Giveaways? None
  • Free signing? Yes
  • Which Living Spaces location? La Mirada

Thanks to Living Spaces and Pete Rose for this appearance.

Time to reminisce

I had the opportunity to have a meet & greet with Pete Rose two years ago. It was at Field of Dreams in Las Vegas.

I was able to sit next to him while he signed my item. He even made conversation with me.

It's a coincidence that I'm wearing the exact same shirt that I wore at his Living Spaces appearance.

Some friends even got into the mix. They got to meet Pete Rose without paying a penny. They didn't even know who he was.

Thanks for reading.

AC Green Autograph Signing

NBA Iron Man AC Green made an appearance at Metro PCS in Pomona. Michael Cooper was originally scheduled to make this appearance but cancelled due to his duties with the USC woman's basketball team.

I already had some AC Green signed items from the past so I wasn't planning on going. I was working about 30 miles away from Pomona so I decided to take advantage of the short drive. Compared to most of the signings I go to, 30 miles is a short drive for me.

This signing was scheduled from 5:00-7:00 pm. I got off work a little later than expected and arrived at almost 6:45 pm. I barely made it!

Signing Recap:
  • People in line? When I arrived 10 people were in front of me.
  • Items per person? Multiple items.
  • Did AC personalize? No, only if you wanted him to.
  • Free signing? Yes

Thanks to AC Green, Metro PCS Pomona, and ESPN 710 for this appearance.

Steve Sax Book Signing

Former Dodger Steve Sax made an appearance to sign copies of his new book "Shift" at Canter's Deli in L.A. Before Steve signed copies of his book he spoke of business opportunities with ACN. ACN is the world's largest direct seller of telecommunication services. It was a very good presentation. Steve gave me a brochure that contains a dvd so I can find out more about ACN. Following the business presentation Steve signed copies of his book along with outside items that fans brought. I hadn't been to an event in a while. I'm glad I made it out to this one.

Signing Recap:

  • People that showed up? I would say about 20 people.
  • Items per person? Steve signed multiple items.
  • Free signing? Yes and No. The book cost $22. I purchased the book and got it signed along with some other items. I noticed some fans getting items signed without purchasing the book.

I'm currently reading another book. I will start reading "Shift" very soon.

Thanks to Canter's Deli and Steve Sax for this appearance.
