Tommy Lasorda Autograph Signing

Dodgers legend Tommy Lasorda made an appearance to sign autographs in Rancho Cucamonga. The signing was to take place during a Quakes game. It was scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. but Tommy arrived a little early and started signing about 4:30 in the afternoon. This was a good thing since every fan was baking for hours in the hot sun. In the end it didn't make much of a difference since the line moved very slow.

When I was near the autograph table Tommy started having a tantrum. Tommy was really pissed off because he didn't want to sign autographs while the game was being played. Maybe that was the reason he even showed up early. Once the game started he got very upset. Tommy even yelled at Quakes staff in front of fans. I wish I had recorded the tantrum on video but didn't.

When it was my turn to get an autograph Tommy signed my HOF Plaque and didn't even look at me. Like I said, he was really pissed off. The dude was turning red. I'm still glad I attended since I had a short drive and you can never have enough Tommy Lasorda autographs.

Signing Recap:
  • People in line? I would guess over 200.
  • Items per person? 1 item.
  • Giveaways? Dodgers Lunch Box.
  • Free signing? Free with paid admission.

This was posted around the autograph area.

Here is Tommy signing a fans baseball.

I noticed that Tommy rolled some baseballs back to fans. He didn't appear happy.

Unlike the event today, I met Tommy Lasorda three other times where he was in a better mood. Those posts are linked below.

Rancho Cucamonga Quakes Ceremony

The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes had an event today to celebrate the new partnership between the Quakes and the Dodgers. Tommy Lasorda, Steve Yeager, Tommy Davis and Wes Parker were all on hand for the celebration. Nobody really knew if an actual autograph signing was going to take place at this event. We just knew that Tommy Lasorda along with other former Dodgers would make appearances. Most fans came prepared with items and were not disappointed. After the event all former Dodgers sat at a table to sign autographs. I'm glad the Quakes had this event. Everybody had a good time.

Signing Recap:

  • People in line? I would guess about 100 people.
  • Items per person? 1 item with a chance to get back in line.
  • Free signing? Yes.
  • Note: Tommy Lasorda doesn't sign bats. I'v known since last year and it was confirmed once again at this signing.

Giveaways?

  • Andre Ethier fleece blankets.
  • Quakes baseballs.
  • Dodger Dogs.
  • Coca Cola drinks.

Tommy Lasorda loves kids. Here he is talking to a little girl.

Tommy Lasorda comes to my hood

Tommy Lasorda was the special guest speaker for the 66er's Meet The Team Dinner event in San Bernardino. The turnout was only about half of what it was at last years event. Tommy spoke of funny stories from his managing days that kept the small turnout entertained.

After the event was over Tommy signed autographs at a table. It was not much of a line so I was able to get back in line for an additional item. I was also able to obtain an autograph from former Dodger Charlie Hough and a couple of 66er's. Robert and I sat at the same table. His blog is Vin Scully is my homeboy. If you want to know more of the event in detail click on the link.

Signing Recap:
  • People in line? Less than 40.
  • Items per person? 1 item.
  • Free event? No, $40 per person.

Thanks to the Dodgers single A affiliate, the 66er's for bringing this Hall of Famer to San Bernardino.

Tommy Lasorda Autograph Signing

Tommy Lasorda was the guest speaker at the 66er's Meet The Team Dinner on May 15, 2009. The event was held at the Orange Show in San Bernardino. This time I didn't have to drive to L.A. like I normally have to do to obtain autographs. It was a short ten minute drive from Redlands where I live.

Ticket prices for the event were $35 per person. It was well worth my money. We had a very good Italian buffet and were privileged to hear the man who bleeds Dodger Blue speak in person. Tommy told many stories about his playing and coaching days. Most of his stories were very funny and kept everybody laughing.
After the event Tommy spent time signing autographs for the fans. I got a ball and photo signed. Too bad he is looking at the wrong camera in the photo. I didn't bother asking for another picture since he looked very tired.

Thanks to the Dodgers single A Affiliate for this event. I hope they do it again next year.

Pete Rose in Las Vegas

I had the opportunity to meet baseballs all time hit leader in Vegas. The fee per autograph was $69 for small items. I chose an 8X10 photo to get autographed. I tend to stay away from purchasing autographs since I already waste a lot of time and money driving to L.A. and Orange County for autographs. I was in Vegas and it was either pay for the autograph or blow the money on gambling or strippers. I chose the guaranteed autograph.

This was the shortest autograph line I had ever been in. I think my wait was about a minute. If it was a free signing the line would of been all the way around the corner.
It was well worth my money. It was an actual meet and greet. Pete made conversation with my friends and I as he signed my photo. I even got to sit next to him.

Thanks to Field of Dreams in the Caesars Forum Shops for this experience.

Chone Figgings autograph signing

The video below is of Chone Figgins signing autographs in Anaheim Hills. The event took place at a At&t store. The line was very long. My estimate was about 400 people. Once Chone arrived it moved pretty fast. I got my Angels mini helmet signed. Thanks to At&t in Anaheim Hills for this free event.
